Gentlemen Send Phantoms

The Sunday Scribblings prompt this week is: superstitions, which I find incredibly fascinating. Here's a little fiction about one in particular (it's kind of romantic):

Laini,
An exquisite and enchanting tale to be sure lass. Told at the right time of the year, I might add. ;-)

That was SO good and sweet it made my eyes teary and you know what a meany I am so thats a very huge deal. Nothing makes me cry, ever, so good work!!! Can you submit that to something like Cricket? It was really truly moving.

I meant to just browse by this time because I really meant to get dinner going, but I got hooked! I agree about the Cricket comment, you should send it in.

Oooh, a Laini fiction! This made me so happy...instantly, I fell into your voices and your characters--you have such a powerful gift. I'd know a Laini story anywhere, and I'd drop everything and read it anywhere.

Thank you for this one!

Laini, this story was truly magical! I started out thinking "what an interesting superstition and one I've never heard of." Then after I had gone a bit farther I decided no, you had made it all up and it was just entirely your own delightful creation. So very interesting to have you tell us at the end that it was really a superstition you have read about, but you brought it to life for us all. Thank you!! And I am so glad our true and loyal little Pippin got the prize which she richly deserved.

I was hooked from the very start ("Once, when the moon was younger than it is tonight and not as plump")Superstition transformed into the poetry of life!

hi there! Last night I had watched a particularly scary episode of CSI (don't ask - I watch it to be less homesick - weird, I know!) and I was too nervous to go to bed so I came by here and was delighted to see a piece of Laini-fiction!! (Although sometimes you can scare me too!!) and I went to bed smiling and dreaming of spells and happy endings in orchards. Thank you! I think that you should collect all of these in a book and get it published - they are truly magical!

Hi Laini!

I just read Betsy Bird's review of Blackbringer, and, WOW! Are you kidding me? I must read it immediately. I trust her opinions on children's books more than just about anyone's.

Congrats on the best first review in the history of book reviews!! And thanks for the support of our blog...next time you see us acting crazy and obnoxious at a conference, PLEASE introduce yourself!

Wow, I couldn't take my eyes away from the screen as I wondered what next? what next? What a beautiful rhythm you have in the telling. I could feel that beautiful Irish lilt.

And he can undo braids?! Throw in the towel, it's all over!

Wow, you really have got that hoop rolling! I love this story and hope it gets lots of readers in lots of published forms... Spread the joy.

I liked Pippen from the moment she threatened to sting O'Doherty like a scorpion. Matty Byrne better keep up the sweetness.
