The other Amber is right: he needs superpowers now to protect him and the movement he has started. I so so so hope he (and we) can climb this staggering mountain.
And now that we can sigh a breath of relief, lets relax and have some nice, soothing wine. (Well, I don't have any wine, but I shall find some.)
Hooray! Hooray! I feel proud to be an American today, even though I recognize the hard road ahead of President Obama and all of us. I want to celebrate on everybody's blog as well as my own!
i love what you did here. it was so emotional last night and i could not let out a sigh of relief until they officially announced it. the majority have spoken!
Hooray! And thank you for your posts these past months, Laini. Both the political and non-political ones. Your words are thought-provoking, motivating, and comforting.
I saw on Ebay today that the 11/5/08 New York Times is going for upwards of a $100!! I was too slow to get my hands on a copy. I would have saved it though. :)
I like looking at all the covers - esp the Yes He Did!
For the past couple of days I've been wearing an Obama shirt -luckily I have two - and sharing smiles with strangers. It's awesome.
Oh, like EM I heard about the papers for sale on Ebay and such and was kicking myself for not grabbing a couple at the 7-11 since I was up at 6:30 a.m. anyway to get my daughter to school. Well, I've got my Washington Post and I'm not parting with it.
I'm a writer & artist. I live in Portland, Oregon with my husband Jim (also an artist) and our small daughter, Clementine Pie. My novels are Dreamdark: Blackbringer, Dreamdark: Silksinger, and Lips Touch, which was a finalist for the 2009 National Book Award. My next novel, Daughter of Smoke and Bone (Little, Brown) will be out September 27, 2011. I believe our dreams are REAL THINGS, not wisps and air, and it is our job in this life to make them come true, because no one else will do it for us, and because this is our one and only "wild & precious life"!

I live in Chicago and was in Grant Park last night listening to our new president. It was something I will remember for the rest of my life.
And the rest of the world thanks you, America. We couldn't make that change, but we could hope for it. Thank you.

Awesome idea posting the newspapers! It just really made it feel real!!!!
YES! Yippee :::insert your favorite Muppet dance here::: Every five minutes I think I'm dreaming and I have to watch another clip to be sure...
Love the newspaper parade. It's real. I'm hyper in love with our new First Family. I hope President Obama will do a Muppet dance with Malia and Sasha!
