Somewhere out there . . .

Somewhere out there, this beautiful Rathersting warrior is at school with her tattoos on. How much do I love that? So much!

Meanwhile, our brief spell of perfect springtime weather has ended. The magical blooming continues -- crabapples and dogwoods are starting, and tulips have taken over for the daffodils -- but it's been raining since yesterday evening. You know what that means? Perfect writing day! I love the rain, I really do. The sound, the smell, the velvety dark sky. The green.

Time to set "Freedom" and get to writing!

That means I got my revision just in time to enjoy the weather. haha.

And that picture looks GREAT!

Just got both books--and the tattoo--in the mail from Penguin the other day: yay! And my 11-yo son is reading Blackbringer for the first time, and has already announced his intention to wear the tattoo (and green spiked hair) to school the last day. Fun stuff! (In the meantime I have to wait to read Silksinger until I've re-read Blackbringer...but it's on the list, truly!)

Now, there are some wee cheeks that need biting! How cute is she? Thank you for showing that the tattoo works on all skin tones!!

Those kids are just adorable. Cutest ever.

And I love the rain, too. Last night we had a thunderstorm here. There is really nothing better than to lie in bed and listen to the calamity of nature and hold hands.

My Pan was asleep, but he held my hand anyway.

Fierce! What a gorgeous little warrior.

Hope the Freedom sets you free today!

She wears her Rathersting beautifully!

Yeah, rain's good for writing but I still want it to be SPRING. Oh, wait. It is. It's just SPRING IN PORTLAND, that's all.

I love rain too. Color saturation. Sometimes the kiddos and I go walking in it and watch the wildlife. The time before last, the biggest king snake I've ever seen crossed the road in front of our driveway.

And thanks for the yummo recipes.

A belated Happy Birthday to Jim, though it looks like he had one. What could be better than saving Superman from a beautiful super villain?

She is lovely! We got our tattoos the other day (thanks!), and will try to do our photo shoot soon...

Okay, I've finally worked up enough courage to leave a comment for you, Miss Laini. I've read Blackbringer several times and loved it to pieces! I got one of my friends to read it too. The Rathersting tattoos are so awesome. I waaant. *makes grabby hands* So, question. For those of us who are under the age of eighteen, or have really stalker-paranoid parents who don't want their daughter leaving reviews on Amazon (or both, like me)... all we have to do is send you a dollar, and we'll get the chocolate and tattoos anyway? Really, truly? Seriously? If so... then you are awesome. *heart*
This is getting long. Last thing, I swear. This link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fv2kmFZTDeY is to an awesome Loreena McKennit song that reminds me of Magpie and Talon. All right. I'm done now. Thanks for being awesome!

Dash it all, the link failed. What is this treachery? Snarl. So sorry. The song is called Never-Ending Road... if you just type that into Youtube, it should come up. Sorry!

Hi, Commander Kip!
Thanks so much for reading Blackbringer, and several times too! I love hearing that!

As for the tattoos, yes, I will send those for a dollar, happily :-) The chocolate, alas, is just part of the bribe.

(I've heard there's a way on Amazon for young people to post their reviews with privacy protection; just looked for it for a few minutes and didn't find anything obvious, though.)

And I love Loreena McKennit! The person who commented just before you, above (Charlotte) -- her husband played on a Loreena McKennit album. How cool is that?

Commander Kip said...

OMIGOSH HE DID?! That is WAY beyond cool.

Privacy protection, you say? I shall look into it. And hopefully I can convince my parents to look into it as well. Thanks!

What a sweet face, and I get to look at it every day, lucky me!

I think tomorrow we'll get some more awesome sunshine here in the Portland area!

Munching on my chocolate now..yeah, so much for waiting until my revisions were done. hah.
