Laini's Ladies tree

More snow today, fat flakes that are a little wet and are melting. So, what happens when you mix puddles with an *arctic front* that is moving in? Ice. Lots and lots of slippery ice. Hm. This may really thwart my last-minute shopping plans. Not that I'm a last-minute shopper. I just have a few things left to procure. Hm.

Lips Touch copyedits did arrive today, in spite of snow in New York and snow in Portland. So I shall be working on that today. (Maybe whilst some cookies bake away in the oven.)

Being stuck in the house, I had to finally give up on the notion of getting a small "real tree" for the Laini's Ladies ornaments this year. Wasn't likely to happen. So I used the metal tree I've used in the past. Dressed it up with a little pom-pom and bead garland first. These are all the Laini's Ladies holiday ornaments we have ever made, and they fill up the tree quite nicely. This tree just doesn't photograph well. But here they are:

The ornaments are all 20% off at the Bottman website right now (if you buy two or more), if you would like to get any. Keep in mind: we don't reprint all designs from year to year, and many will never be available again.

And this is my grandmother's Christmas village, which she won in a contest at the department store where she worked back in the '50s. My aunt sent it to me this year, and I think it is highly cute.

I think all your Christmas stuff is highly cute! I've got the tree up, too. Come and see, I'll post it now.

So so cute! You know, we have exactly the same little ceramic Christmas tree as you do! Complete with missing plastic "ornaments"

Lovely ladies! I can't wait to get to my parents house on Saturday, to help decorate...we don't do much of anything with our own house, since we aren't ever here for Christmas.

So fun to read this post right now as I was just getting on the computer to blog about gift ideas (especially for the bookish types)and was going to rave about my love of the Ladies. So glad I can link to this post and the news of 20% off. Woo-hoo! They are just too great.
