Limp Arms, New Website

Whew. I've been working on designing a new website all day, and it's been complicated by the fact that my arms are mysteriously, outrageously SORE. The kind of sore where I'm having kind of a hard time doing basic things I take for granted, like lifting them with just the right pressure and speed to not smack myself in the face if I need to rub my eye or something. Or you know, to actually make it all the way to my face. My arms are not properly calibrated right now. I did go to the gym yesterday, and I did lift weights, which I don't do very often. But the thing is, I didn't work out my triceps (or, as I like to call them, my triceratops) at all, and yet, that's what kills. And see, I did THREE MINUTES on this one new cardio machine with an arm workout element to it, and the really really sad thing is, I think those three minutes have to be responsible. Three. Minutes. I want to clarify that I had just run 3 miles on the treadmill. It's not like I only do three minutes of cardio. But as for the triceratops, I just don't know. This I know: OUCH. Wow.

But in spite of my pitiful arms, I DID manage to redesign my website! Check it out HERE. It's not all done yet, but I'm liking what I've got so far. I especially had fun with the "About" part -- I included a 20 question true or false quiz about myself. I just made the silly "art girl" above for the art page, still in progress.

I'd love to know what you think of it all!

Love the new website - you totally nailed it...I didn't do too bad on the true/false questions but can't believe you wouldn't eat an olive!

The website looks good. I didn't get around to all of it - I've got to get ready for work soon.

Ow, sore arms are no good. Moist heat and gentle stretching are my cures for achy everything. Three minutes of anything new is a lot! And for some reason the triceps don't get much attention in our daily lives, so working them at all is a big ol' wake-up. Just think how great your arms will look. :)

Laini, it is rare that a visit to a web site actually leaves me feeling good. So you get the ultimate compliment: your Web site actually made me feel happier. I mean this! There is so much joy in it.

You are fanatastic.

PS: My sister is reading your book aloud to her three kids, they read a couple chapters every night before bed. Just like my Grandma used to do with us.

holy cow, Laini! I won't give anything away, but I am alive with wonder and dreams after finishing your book! You officially opened my eyes to a new genre of books. I'm ashamed to be a mannie and would probably be second in line for wing transplants--right behind you. I haven't settled on which variety yet, though. and I'm going to have to start researching magics so that I can shrink myself down to the right size...

anyway--bravo! standing O! kudos to you! great job!

jacksmoke! do I really have to wait so long for Silksinger? write, lass, write!

The site looks fantastic, particularly the shoes photos and the bio and your quiz (but do add my additional ones asap) and of course, the upclose shot of little Snoshti. I am shocked though that you don't have any photos of me, your therapist, anywhere on there. Whats up with that? Can't you take one of my old modeling photos and stick it up there next to Leroy? C'mon now! (btw, because I am too lazy to send you an email right now, I would like to invite you to pick me up at the airport Friday night before H.P.!)

Looks GREAT! I love all the color in the graphics - very crisp - and even better that you've kept a generally white background, which allows them to pop off the screen all the more. I thought a butterfly might almost fly out of my computer!

Your new website is so fun! I guessed most of true/false correctly, except the olives - since you don't like them, can I have all of your olives? Oh well, they'd probably get pretty mushy though by the time they made it here, anyway...
Hope your arms feel better soon - maybe you were flying in your sleep?

Hi. My name is Lara Berch. I have just launched a new website with step by step art tutorials. I was wondering if it's possible to exchange links with you. http://www.laraberch.com
Thank you very much for your time.
Sincerely
Lara

As far as the web site goes, I think it's very good in terms of design and composition. I didn't have time to check the content, but it looks great.
