In which Laini leaves the house. . .

See? Me in the sunshine with grass. You can't see them, but there are honest-to-God trees around me too! Oh, and though I look like a depraved animal (snort!), those aren't beers, they're pear sodas. If you look real close, you can see the pears!

YES! I have exited the house! More than once! On Monday, after hitting send, I thought: Picnic! So we picked up yummy sandwiches and peanut butter cookies and went to Mount Tabor park, and then we went really crazy and went to Home Depot for garden plants (so woefully late to be planting, but so it goes) and some sky blue paint for my patio table. On the way there, we got ice cream at Ikea; on the way back we got mango Slurpees at 7-11. Oh yeah. Day of decadence! ha ha ha! So, in the past two days there has been *gardening* (not really, more like weed pulling and cursing), and painting of patio furniture, and watching of mediocre summer blockbusters (Wanted, Hancock).

As for Silksinger, I just want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who emailed to enter the drawing for the manuscript and shwag! Thank you so much! I was secretly afraid no one would want it, which is why I had you email me instead of just comment -- because that way I could hide it if there weren't many responses (ah, confidence!). But! You guys make me feel very special! Thank you! I have been loving reading your emails and I wish I could send you ALL a manuscript, but that is not really reasonable. I will draw out of the hat later today. And I think I will probably draw two, though I only have one audiobook to give away. There is plenty of Laini's Ladies stuff for prizes though. The manuscripts are at Kinko's right now getting copied and spiral-bound. I will mail them out tomorrow. Thank you again everyone! I'll announce the "winner of the work" later.

In the meantime, for your entertainment, click HERE for a very funny rap video about two hardcore guys going to get cupcakes and watch Narnia!

And here, watch this. It's really short. This girl is kind of a Magpie Windwitch -- a little girl with big mojo. Love this!

Yippe for leaving the house! What a great way to celebrate the sending off of a manuscript - tasty treats and trees.

I SO SO wish I could have entered the drawing. But alas, I am buried somewhere deep deep in my own manuscript and I worry the crawl out of this cave would be like attempting to exit Ape Cave without a flash light. Next time?

I've just launched my website. Give it a look if you have extra time to kill: www.elisemurphybooks.com.

And post some pics of the new plants! I'm counting on an Indian Summer to get enough time out of the planting season this year.

OMG!! That is one amazing video - she's part spider! Way cool.

Good to see you outdoors and in the light! Hope you can enjoy some of the summer while it lasts.

What?! I could've had the manuscript of Silksinger?! How did I not know about that?!?!? Ph, I need to pay attention more.
Time outside...I could use that, but I'm too anxious to do anything. My writing program has a virus and I can't get to Autumn Rider! What's worse is that the computer might crash again 'causing me to loose all my work! Oi.
I could use a pear soda 'bout now.

Congrats on meeting the deadline and good for you for taking some "you" time and enjoying some goodies. Sorry I missed the contest for the manuscript - Nat will kill me if she finds out! If you're still looking for readers, let us know. (She just devoured all three Stephanie Myers books in two weeks time and last night started re-reading the first in the series!)

I have to confess something to you Fatty! I pretended to be a dillion different people all requesting to read Silksinger so your worst fears have come true! In fact, every single comment ever left here is by ME, all from different emails and blogger accounts..eek. I am the ONLY person, in actual fact, who has ever read your blog period! Please forgive me. It was all with loving intent,

oh and I can't WAIT to receive my berry pickins' later on today. Count all of them and divide them into a complete half. Then, you are to bring YOUR half too just so I can check. If you are one berry off, there will be repercussions so silly that you won't be able to bare it.
also, 95 degrees Saturday ) : so I'm moving the polar/sandwich expedition to Sunday.

Yay - you found your way outside again!

I can assure you, I am NOT Alexandra (though sometimes, for a day at least, I might wish to be :)
Hope I was in time for a chance at the drawing. But I guess I can always wait for it to show up at B&N... ~sigh~

Yes, please share some garden pics some time too - I love to looky-loo at other people's gardens - and the sky blue table too! I need to paint a zillion things around here - I could use some ideas...

Wow - that was some play by the ballgirl - she should be ON the team...
Didn't watch the other video yet - it sounds sort of like 'Color Me Mine,' though - I love that video. Have to go watch this one now...

Had to come back - that video parody is the one that Lazy Monday/Color Me Mine, parodies! LOL - there's probably a parody of THAT parody somewhere too -
but if you feel like sitting at the computer again - here's the WEST coast version of that SNL parody:

I can't decide between them in the NarniaChronicle rap battles (there's actualy a website, though I've never visited it). Both of these versions are too, too funny...
