Mama has a new desktop photo

Oh my gooooooodnesssss! Clementine had a particularly good hair day yesterday, which called for many photos:
It's like a rooster comb :-)
Swoon, swoon.

And look at the amazing hat my dear friend Chary crocheted for Clementine for Christmas:
It makes my heart hurt a little. In a good way.

Meanwhile, had a great library event last night at the Beaverton City Library with some of my favorite local writers:
Left to right that's: Lisa Schroeder, who writes beautiful YA books in verse, with a lovely romantic/creepy element of ghostliness, very deeply moving; LK Madigan, whose debut book Flash Burnout just won the Morris Award (yay!); April Henry, who writes both YA and adult mysteries (the adult ones being on the NYT bestseller list!!), and Christine Fletcher, author of one of my favorite books last year, Ten Cents a Dance. I'd do links, but Clementine is hungry, so I'll leave you to google any of those authors/books you might be interested in. (Hope you will!) It was really delightful being on a panel with these ladies -- thank you to those of you who came last night. It was great to meet some Facebook friends in person (hi, Mary!), and some readers (hi, Heather!) who can do Magpie's accent, which I most definitely cannot!

:-)

Cock-a-doodle-cutie!

How is it possible that a human baby could be so adorable?

*swooning right along with you*

When you're not even a year old and you have such great hair days already, man, your life is gonna be good!

I told you a million times last night how cute that baby is, so I won't repeat myself, tempting though it may be.

BTW, I blogged about the author panel today (and even included links!) so anyone who missed it can read what you and your talented cohorts said about your writing processes.

Much as I love Clementine's hair, it's those cheeks that knock me over. Hug!

Hello, I am a new reader. I found your blog from Meg Cabot's interview. I just wanted to comment and tell you want a beautiful baby you have! I am not a person who thinks babies are cute, believe me! My nieces looked like little aliens. But your daughter looks like an actual baby doll. Adorable! And she looks so happy. That's all, just wanted to share.

Being a blog stalker has paid off in so many ways! The gals and I had a blast with all of you at the Library event. You really are a ROCK STAR ...you know that right? Now I'll never be able to hear P!nk sing it with out changing the words to be about you. And with hair fantastic-ness like that, Clementine is quickly securing her own rock star status.

That Clementine is ridiculously, RIDICULOUSLY adorable. Surely that kind of adorable-ness can't be legal. I bet all the other babies on the block are making snarky comments.

I get so excited to see more Clementine pics! She needs to be signed up pronto to model!!!! She and Jim could win awards :-)

And you are right back to your cute slim self! I am loving that top you have on. Having returned from NYC, I am feeling rather fashion conscious.

What a great group of writers y'all have. j-e-a-l-o-u-s-y!!!!

Hi Maryam! Lovely to see you here :-) Your travels bring you from Afghanistan to ... my blog. Cool!

And Katie, thank you for the nice words! I'm back on a serious diet to take off about 15 lbs that I can't totally blame on pregnancy! Also, Jim got me that top, and I love it :-)

Those are the best father/daughter pictures I've ever seen. It's like she is telling him (the giant) a story. An obviously happy one. She was destined to be yours ... the pixie faerie that she is!
