I like the weird, dark oddball stuff too. And don't see why it should be forbidden to show a bottle of champagne or a pipe in a picture book. I was talking to a former Disney art director about it and he says the reason publishers are so careful not to put anything dark or remotely offensive in pic books is that they're scared of being sued. Check out this weird and beautiful French book:<br />http://www.carmensegovia.net/books/sarbacane.htmlRed Fox Literaryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15447360422005559086noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21997604.post-22549986095957565222009-05-15T23:20:00.000-07:002009-05-15T23:20:00.000-07:00those are absolutely gorgeous illustrations. i'm a...those are absolutely gorgeous illustrations. i'm a graphic designer so i love stuff like this :D thanks for sharing.floretahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18220834824793299258noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21997604.post-13222095122781136572009-05-15T11:14:00.000-07:002009-05-15T11:14:00.000-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.tricia stirlinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15462109680971905741noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21997604.post-65123439467244525072009-05-15T08:07:00.000-07:002009-05-15T08:07:00.000-07:00What a great book! How to overcome trials, differences, jealousy, spats? The answer is in this delightful story that reminds us that princes and princesses have the same troubles as regular people.
